What is The Hidden Switch?
The Hidden Switch began as a search for answers.After developing a severe and unexplained illness involving dysautonomia, chronic fatigue, and widespread physiological disruption, the author began documenting patterns that conventional explanations struggled to account for.This process eventually led to a working hypothesis — the Autonomic Release Vent (ARV) — a proposed physiological mechanism involved in pressure regulation and autonomic state.
The ARV Model
The Autonomic Release Vent (ARV) is proposed as a physiological mechanism involved in pressure regulation and autonomic state.In this model, the body requires periodic release events to maintain balance between sympathetic activation and parasympathetic recovery.When this mechanism fails to reset properly, the system may remain trapped in a dysregulated state — producing patterns seen across a range of chronic conditions.
Why this work matters
This project began as a personal search for answers after a severe unexplained illness.The patterns documented in The Hidden Switch led to the proposal of a physiological mechanism referred to as the Autonomic Release Vent (ARV).Whether this model proves correct or not, the aim is simple: to encourage better questions about the mechanisms underlying chronic illness.
